Beautiful Locations for Pre-Wedding Shoots
South India offers several settings for couples exploring Candid Photography in India. Each destination brings a different mood to the photographs:
• Munnar, Kerala: Tea plantations and rolling hills create a scenic setting for outdoor couple photographs.
• Coorg, Karnataka: Coffee estates and green landscapes offer backgrounds for relaxed walks and natural interactions.
• Hampi, Karnataka: Historic architecture and rocky landscapes suit couples who prefer a distinctive heritage setting.
• Gokarna, Karnataka: Beaches and coastal views provide space for walking photographs and spontaneous moments by the sea.
• Pondicherry: Colorful streets, cafés, and coastal surroundings offer different settings within one destination.
• Alleppey, Kerala: Backwaters and houseboats provide an alternative setting for couples interested in waterside photographs.
These locations feature in Cupid Diaries’ guide to candid photography destinations in South India.
How to Choose the Right Location?
Start by thinking about where you both feel comfortable. If you enjoy nature, consider a hill destination or a green outdoor setting. If you like to have a house with a lot of space, heritage streets and historic surroundings may better reflect your preferences.
Also consider how much travelling you want to do during the session. Choosing fewer locations can leave more time for photography, breaks, and outfit changes. Share reference photographs with your photographer to explain the colors, backgrounds, and overall mood you prefer.
Simple Tips for a Comfortable Photoshoot
A little preparation can help the session run smoothly:
• Choose comfortable outfits: Select clothes and footwear that suit the setting and allow easy movement.
• Discuss the schedule: Plan the session around available light, travel time, and your preferred locations.
• Confirm access beforehand: Check photography permissions, opening hours, and any location charges before finalizing arrangements.
• Keep an alternative ready: Discuss another location or schedule in case weather affects outdoor plans.
• Allow time to settle in: Begin with simple activities instead of expecting every photograph to happen immediately.
• Share your priorities: Tell your photographer which moments, backgrounds, and types of photographs matter most to you.
