Ending Violence, Empowering Queens: How Gender Equality Drives Climate Action

Climate change doesn’t affect everyone equally. Across Africa, women are more likely to face the consequences of environmental disasters, from losing farmland to facing displacement and insecurity. But beyond statistics are real stories of strength, resilience, and leadership.
At the Halima Abbey Foundation (HAF), we’ve seen how empowering women to lead is one of the strongest tools for climate resilience. Through the Green Queen Pageant, we’re not just raising awareness; we’re raising leaders. Women who turn pain into purpose, and advocacy into action.
