Responsibilities:
Calibration and Maintenance: To guarantee measurement accuracy, calibrate pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters on a regular basis using standard test equipment.
Electrical troubleshooting involves identifying and fixing issues with switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, and lighting systems.
Control Systems Support: Help with I/O modules, HMI interfaces, and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) hardware maintenance and troubleshooting.
Preventive Maintenance (PM): To reduce unscheduled downtime, carry out planned PM procedures on actuators, control valves, and analytical instruments.
Installation and Commissioning: Install new instrument tubing, conduits, and electrical wiring in accordance with P&ID diagrams and engineering plans.
Loop Testing: From the field instrument to the Control Room/DCS, perform end-to-end loop checks.
Safety Compliance: Work in hazardous area categories (ATEX/IECEx) and follow stringent Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) protocols.
Required Skills:
Multimeter and tool proficiency: proficient with oscilloscopes, insulation tests (Megger), simulators, and HART communicators.
Schematic literacy is the capacity to read and comprehend intricate piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and electrical single line diagrams (SLDs).
Pneumatic and Hydraulic Knowledge: Understanding how hydraulic actuators and pneumatic positioners work.
Strong analytical abilities to distinguish between electrical power outages and electronic problems are necessary for troubleshooting logic.
Regulatory Knowledge: A thorough comprehension of regional electrical safety regulations or the National Electrical Code (NEC).
