Job Description
Responsibilities
1. Develop and Implement Safety Policies:
- Establish comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs aligned with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Regularly update and revise safety protocols to ensure compliance with legal standards and best practices.
2. Safety Inspections and Audits:
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits across all facilities to identify potential hazards, unsafe equipment, and risky conditions.
- Implement corrective actions to address any identified issues, ensuring a safe work environment.
3. Accident Investigation:
- Lead investigations into workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
- Recommend and oversee the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
4. Safety Training Programs:
- Develop and deliver safety training for employees, including comprehensive new hire orientation and ongoing refresher courses.
- Ensure training covers various safety topics, such as equipment handling, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
5. Employee Support and Guidance:
- Provide expert guidance and support to employees on safety-related concerns.
- Act as the primary contact for safety inquiries, ensuring employees are well-informed on safety policies and practices.
6. Collaboration and Safety Integration:
- Collaborate with other departments and management teams to integrate safety practices into all operational processes.
- Foster a culture of safety across all levels of the organization, encouraging proactive identification and resolution of safety risks.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards and other relevant local, state, and federal safety laws.
- Experience in conducting safety inspections, audits, and investigations.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to guide and influence employees and management on safety-related matters.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Certification in occupational safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is preferred.
Role: Safety Officer
Experience: 5 to 7 yrs
Qualification: Diploma/BE in Mech
Salary: From 35K per month (Can be Negotiable Based on Previous Experience)
Location: Chennai
